Salma Hassanieh is passionate about working collaboratively with a diverse population of individuals of any age or presenting concern. Coming from a Middle Eastern background and being bilingual (English and Arabic), Salma understands the impact culture has on mental health. Using a culturally sensitive approach, Salma enjoys working with underrepresented minorities, especially those who identify with the LGBTQ+ community.
Salma utilizes multicultural trauma-informed modalities, mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, and psychodynamic theory. She believes that every person is unique and is intentional about tailoring her approach to each client to empower them to achieve their goals.
Salma is an LLPC (Limited Licensed Professional Counselor) and received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Oakland University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Health Psychology from Wayne State University.
