Licensed Master’s Social Worker
Madalyn Harvey is a Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW) who received her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Michigan. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Valparaiso University, and minored in Child Development and Literature.
Madalyn received training from the National Child Traumatic Stress Network to provide Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to children and adolescents for single event and complex traumas. Madalyn uses TF-CBT as well as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing, and other frameworks (i.e. polyvagal theory, CBT) to create a safe environment to process challenging life events and relationships. These techniques support individuals of all ages, with or without trauma. Previous to her work with Cypress, she worked with children and youth in western Wayne County. There she supported children and teens and their families with processing trauma, managing depression and anxiety, accessing gender-affirming services, and managing challenging behaviors. Madalyn also has experience working as a behavioral health consultant at a primary care office, with adults in inpatient settings, long-term day treatment programs, and HIV/AIDS case management.
Madalyn works out of the Ann Arbor office.
