About Grief Counseling

We develop strong attachments to the people and to the things we love and we suffer greatly when we lose them.

Grieving is the normal mental distress we experience when we feel the pain of loss, which is often prompted by the death of a loved one.

However, we also can grieve the loss of relationships, pets, or our health. Everyone grieves differently and so the emotional experience is unique and the timetable for the grieving process is difficult to predict.

Grief Help

Our society suggests to us that grieving should not take long and that work and academic responsibilities or leisure activities ought to be resumed subsequent to the loss of someone or something dear. These influences, along with other relationship and individual pressures often complicate the normal grieving process. As a result, common experiences of guilt, sadness, anger or decreased functioning in daily life can become more burdensome and depression sometimes develops.
