Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right therapist?
Choosing the right therapist is an important decision, but it can also feel stressful. At Cypress, we take time to carefully listen to your present concerns, as well as your goals for therapy. From our first phone call, we ensure you’ll be placed with a therapist who will be the right fit for you or a loved one. We’re also happy to answer questions or concerns you may have prior to your first therapy session. Ultimately, we want you to feel safe, secure, and above all else comfortable and welcomed.
Will my insurance cover my therapy sessions?
Typically, most insurance plans cover mental health services. If you plan to use insurance, we can provide details about your mental health benefits to help you understand what benefits/services are covered, if you will have to pay a deductible, and whether or not you need a referral from your primary care physician.
We currently accept the following insurance plans:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield (PPO)
- Blue Care Network (HMO)
- Cigna
- Health Alliance Plan (HAP)
- Medicare
- United Behavioral Health (UBH)
Other insurance plans may be accepted if the policy includes “Out of Network” benefits.
What can I expect during my first session?
Your initial session is designed to help you become comfortable with your therapist, as well as to help your therapist understand what your current concerns are, what prompted you to start therapy, and what you hope to achieve from your therapy sessions. Your therapist will use this first session to ensure you have a good understanding of how therapy can be used to provide you with the tools and solutions required to achieve your mental health and life goals. We may also use this initial session to provide recommendations if additional services are needed.
How often will I need therapy sessions?
Typically, we see our clients once a week for a 50-minute session. However, depending on your specific needs, you may require more than one type of therapy session each week. This will be determined with your therapist, and can change over time. For example, if you require two sessions per week to start, you may only need one session per week as time passes.
